yesterday i edited the din neuzeit grotesk. wilhelm pischner designed this typeface in 1920 and appeared with the font foundry d. stempel in 1928. the german standards committee suggested the »light neuzeit-grotesk« font in 1970 for use in official signage, traffic directional systems, etc. the font neuzeit grotesk was once the standard in the print industry, as a timeless typeface with no real distinguishing features. like other typefaces of the 1920s, din neuzeit grotesk reflects the philosophy of the times, »form is function«.i wasn’t satisfied with the e and s, also the kerning-pairs were bad, but i love the lower case »a«. when editing them last night i decided to give her 2 more font-weights, bold and heavy. the shapes of e and g, j and t were corrected, now i am satisfied.for private try-out (no commercial use):www.tristanschmitz.de/download/neuzeit_grotesk_tschmitz.zip
