Beach Battle
As I was looking through some older stuff by keyword, I found these 2003 never-officially-with-my-name-connected scans of Bravo, a weekly youth/music/sexual education magazine in Germany. When I was 12-16, almost everyone had and everyone read it. For a couple of years, Bravo even had a successful TV show.
The magazine always included a photo love story, spread over several pages and sometimes even over several issues. I didn’t tell anyone but my closest friends when I was asked to be in it and actually went to the shoot where I played a 16-year-old although I was 19; and I hoped none of my school friends would still look at the magazine if their siblings had it. I am now old enough that it isn’t embarrassing anymore. I made sure the photo love story wasn’t about sex before I agreed, because sometimes they showed naked teenagers and their first time, cough cough.
When I was told about the story, I asked whether I could play the mean girl (because I really wanted to!), but they made me to be the nice one who gets the guys in the end.
Then I scanned it so I wouldn’t lose it and put them on Flickr as private photos. Here they are: click on the photos enlarges them
(you have to see the whole post on my blog to see the embedded pictures)
I remember that it was a really cold day at that beach in April, and I got totally sick afterwards.
But I later worked with the other girl on some photoshoot again, when I was already a photographer.
