Bragging about your work while everyone can see it.
Via a comment on one of my Flickr images, I found a website of someone claiming to be a photographer.
One first thing I have never understood about American websites is how some people write about themselves in third person. Is it that the “I” is too busy to state what (s)he is up to?
But whatever. It is much worse when you write a manifesto-ish text about your great services, but obviously all the stuff you have is horrible!
I don’t want to personally bash the art institute graduated young lady, so I am not linking to her site. Part of it states her using a fashion and editorial twist to promote products, businesses and people.
The rest of the decription of her work is the exact opposite of what is displayed there: “clean, simple, bold, colorful and graphic images” and about her utilizing any objects’ natural shape and texture with superb lighting, resulting in stunning images to which the customers’ positive reaction is guaranteed. (While any light is used in the worst way possible.)
WTF? So weird. What is in front of some people’s eyes, or is there cotton candy in their brains? It seems she thinks this is it, and then wonders why the mean advertising world ignores her.
Update: And yes, despite the first reblog, it is THAT bad! (How can you even know the site you quick brown fox, Z.?)
