crowdsourcing: in your opinion…

what are trends in everyday/snapshot/artsy photography?

darker images?
hdr?

etc.

  1. Alvaro answered: High saturation and sharpening
  2. frischmilch answered: getty said 3years ago: darker images (trend report)

  4. pdx503 answered: HDR and tilt-shift=best pictures EVA!!! :|
  5. the-tripper answered: Being an old film guy, I think stopping and composing with the digital first. That and actually using zones.
  6. mrflix answered: Dave Hill
  7. sarasparrow answered: in america, I think vintage colors, Urban Outfitters catalog style photos are everywhere here.
  8. voth answered: everything -why not? :-)
  9. floodwaters answered: undersaturating as far as I have noticed among my schoolmates.
  10. daenja answered: I think tilt-shift is the new hdr, I’m getting pretty sick of it. Also extreme bokeh, but I still like that!
  11. t3chnicolorbritt answered: strategic desaturation
  12. stephandeprouw answered: On Flickr, it’s definately hdr. But ugh, the things most people do to them…
  13. 32feet answered: super high contrast
  14. fffarrr answered: EVERYTHING
  15. yani answered: angles
  16. carlmckinney answered: I’d say vintage colors, flares, angles
  17. backeis answered: Shots of hipsters in their daily surroundings. Plus: Make it look like film or use film again.
  18. namiks answered: readymade photografie
  19. tristanschmitz answered: toiletten, fäkalien, bomben, schmerz und terror
  20. nicklas answered: I’ve seen an increase in digital “straight out of camera”-idiocy.
  21. frogclown answered: “bokeh” and lots of it
  22. marco answered: Things that are easy with crap lenses, so no macro or low-light. Rotate the camera 30 degrees, desaturate 20%, fake-vignette, and it’s “art”.
  23. thisjourney answered: vintage
  24. dubliner answered: Death to HDR and Tilt-Shift! So over done they have no impact anymore. Now? Simple 50mm 1.4 portraits. If done right they’re ace.
  25. dieyounglivefast answered: I’ve seen a lot of folks recently using expired film and other effects to take vintage-looking shots. It’s a good trend I think.
  26. justmeandtheworld answered: HDR, MACRO, TILT-SHIFT, ANGLES AND DARKER IMAGES IN THIS ORDER…. sorry for caps :)
  27. bphoto answered: Ich habe den Eindruck, dass Tilt-Shift z.Zt. sehr en Vogue ist. HDR scheint auf dem Rückzug zu sein (… zum Glück)
  28. tiffany answered: desaturated, vintage looking images
  29. pukomuko answered: hdr for snapshots? have not seen this yet.
  30. cyan1975 answered: tilt-shift, hdr, angles!
  31. lassehallstroem answered: das echte tilt-shift ist durch die inflationäre Photoshop-Fakerei kein wirklicher Trend mehr. HDR ist ein Negativ-Trend
  32. klubbsoda answered: I always enjoy watching tilt-shift and HDR images. They give the nicest effects and colours imho
  33. vb answered: hdr & tilt-shift kinda went away… macros with shallow depth of field seem popular
