Over the last years, I have become a night working person.
I am into not getting calls and being disturbed by emails with high priority all the time (of course they are necessary at daytime). Also, I know there is nothing to miss during the night, no Sun or birds or whatever. That is what makes the night comfortable to work during.
The dilemma is that I’d feel very bad to be sleeping long, especially because I know my family and all the office people have to get up around 6 every weekday. Also, there is light out which should not be “wasted”. So during summer time, I set my alarm to 7, and to 8 during winter time, Monday through Sunday.
I also need to meet my clients’ office hours. Sometimes people call me at 9:05 a.m., and it would be absolutely embarrassing to be sounding sleepy or just woken up. Or when I receive a package.
At least I usually do not go further than 2 or 3 a.m. every night, because when my set alarm says that the time left is less than 5 hours, I feel like I messed up my own schedule.
But, if the day had only a couple extra hours… I’d definitely have the energy to add six more (24+6=30), as long as I could still sleep for 5 or 6 hours until the next morning.

Update: I just caught myself thinking that maybe some day, the official day hours might be changed. Then, seconds later, I realized that we cannot make the Earth turn slower. Not everything is man-controlled, I guess.
