After four hours of trying to get through on the German Customs (Zoll) hotline, I went ahead and called the service for English-only customers from my German phone number and with a German name, where I then proceeded to innocently talk about Paketscheine and Deutsche Post in English with a fellow German call agent. We both played along, it was fun.
